USC Meeting (highlights)


Motion from Greek Life Presentation

  • Description: No longer provide Greek life organizations with USC spaces at a subsidized rate, support rush events, or offer resource member positions

  • Result: Tabled

  • Arts vote: N/A

Motion 5

  • Description: Amend EGC finance procedure to no longer collect bonds from prospective candidates and clarify other financial procedures.

  • Result: Passed unanimously

  • Arts vote: In favour

Motion 6

  • Description: Amend EGC nominations procedure to address accessibility concerns and to allow students to use their preferred name and pronoun on all elections-related proceedings.

  • Result: Passed unanimously

  • Arts vote: In favour

Motion 7

  • Description: Amend EGC violations policy to remove areas of confusion and potential sources of exploitation of the previous policy.

  • Result: Passed unanimously

  • Arts vote: In favour

Motion 8

  • Description: Amend EGC violations procedure to add clarifying policy and realign locations of policy points.

  • Result: Passed

  • Arts vote: In favour

Motion 9

  • Description: Amend the Grants Committee TOR and Student Refugee Fund policies to move the SRF Committee into and under the Grants Committee.

  • Result: Passed

  • Arts vote: In favour

Motion 10

  • Description: Ratify the Elections Governance Committee Balloting procedure which allows a candidate’s preferred name and pronoun to be listed on the ballot, and for candidates to show up in a randomized order.

  • Result: Passed

  • Arts vote: In favour

Motion 11

  • Description: Endorse the themes of gender-based equity, work-integrated learning, racial equity, and sustainablity as the four themes to develop the 2021-22 USC budget submission around.

  • Result: Passed unanimously

  • Arts vote: In favour
