Does your club have an event that you want the AHSC to help promote? Do you want to see more interconnectedness between the various Western clubs, councils, and other gatherings of groups of people? Then that button up there will give you everything you want and more!

Comprised of four subsections, the events portfolio acts as both the mind and the body behind most AHSC events; we brainstorm, plan, organize, execute, and oversee, with as much creativity and as little procrastination as we can manage. The Philanthropy subsection hosts exciting and low-cost events such as our annual Date with a Book to raise money for council’s chosen charity of the year. The Community Outreach subsection works to maintain the link between the Western arts and humanities community and the local London community. The Play subsection takes care of the annual AHSC play, an event featuring no shortage of Western talent. Finally, the last subsection of events includes a few of AHSC’s biggest projects each year, some done in collaboration with other campus groups: Arts and Humanities Formal, FAM Winter Market, Purple Sex, and more. Check out our events calendar or Facebook page to ensure you don’t miss out on the great events we’ve got lined up!

AHSC Presents:

the 2019 Play!

“He who follows in others’ tracks leaves no footprints behind.”

Set in a small Jewish community in the heart of 1600s Christian Amsterdam, the Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza follows the young free-thinker's charming wit and thoughts as he is put on trial for his troublesome musings about the origin of life, God, and the Universe which go against the traditions of his community.

As we traverse the rabbit hole that is Baruch’s metaphysical—and, for some, heretical—mind, the action gives audiences a front-row seat to what may have been the historic court proceedings of this pensive jokester’s trial for philosophising against the Jewish faith.

Come See The Play on Jan. 30-Feb 2 at The Arts Project!

Make You Smile Mondays

Make You Smile Mondays is an initiative our VP Events Leigha has brought to life this year! One Monday a month look out for AHSC holding de-stressors across campus in hopes of making you smile! Check out some pictures here.

Date with a Book

Hey Western students! The Arts and Humanities Students' Council is asking for donations of used books for an upcoming charity event, 'Date with a Book'. All books can be dropped off at the Arts and Humanities Student Council office in IGAB 0N20D, and all proceeds from the event will go to this year's charity, the London Arts Council. These books will then be wrapped in brown paper and sold with clues alluding to what they are about. This is a good chance to get rid of some old books in order to make room for the new, mysterious books you can later purchase at our Date with a Book event, which will be held on November 30th in the UCC Atrium, from 10am - 4pm!
